Frequently asked questions

How often do my hotel or restaurant extinguishers need to be inspected?

NFPA-10 calls for a visual check "at intervals not exceeding 31 days" (§ 7.2.1.2), which your own staff can do, plus an annual maintenance by a technician (§ 7.3.2). On top of that, the internal examination happens at 6 years (§ 7.3.6) and the hydrostatic test at 5 or 12 years depending on the unit (§ 8.3.1). For a kitchen in La Malbaie or an inn in Baie-Saint-Paul, we schedule the annual and remind you of upcoming deadlines by building through Canuck360.

Do you also handle commercial kitchens and cooking lines?

Yes. Charlevoix restaurant kitchens need Class K extinguishers near the cooking appliances, alongside the suppression system over the grills and fryers. We confirm your Class K units are in place, charged and tagged to NFPA-10 and the CNPI. Call 418-905-3396 and we will come look at your kitchen.
